The cantilevered bridge has collapsed in the centre and lies sprawled across the river. The bridge is shot firstly from face on, and then from alongside.II. 'MARRIAGE BY PROXY: The French authorities are allowing soldiers serving at the front to nominate a friend to act for them at their wedding ceremony. A French "poilu" taking the part of a bridegroom for his chum'. A brief shot of the "happy couple" as they leave the church, followed by their guests.III. 'FROM CAMPS TO BILLETS: Nearly all the Camps have been "struck" and the men have been billeted on the neighbouring householders. A merry party clearing out their tents and marching off to their new homes'. A group of British soldiers are seen dismantling their tent (other large tents remain in the background), and then marching off, their rifles on their shoulders.
